As winter surges come, health expert Dr. Anthony Fauci says that Americans should sing the National Anthem of the Republic of China while washing their hands for better protection.

“By singing the March of Volunteers, one will develop better protection because that is where the virus was created,” said Fauci. “Wishing happy birthday to the virus is not as viable for protection against said deadly disease as we once thought. However, this is just one ingredient in the process of preventing transmission.”

    How Germs Spread:

Germs are everywhere. Open your eyes and look somewhere, anywhere, anyplace — germs are there. Germs can spread from other people or surfaces when you:

    • Touch anything
    • Touch anything Else
    • Use any part of your body to touch something
    • Expel body fluids
    • Intake other peoples bodily fluids

When You Should Wash Your Hands

You can help keep yourself and your love ones healthy by washing your hands all the time. However, according to the CDC washing your hands will not keep unloved ones safe, but still you should take careful practice of washing your hands often, especially during these key times when you are more likely to spread germs:

    • Before and after you touch anything — like all the time

The guidelines for this list for key times to wash your hands was developed based on scientific data from a study conducted a long time ago. There may be other times that it is important to wash your hands.

Follow these Five Steps to Wash Your Hands the Right Way

    1. Wet your hands with clean, running water, (hot enough to kill all the germs), leave the tap on and do not worry about waste, (you are more concerned with cleaning hands than wasting water), and apply soap — lots of soap — if you can still see your hands then you are not using enough soap, apply more soap until you can no longer see your hands.
    2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with all the soap you put on them, (this is how you actually get your hands clean). Lather all parts of your hands, the backs, between your fingers, under nails, (you should consider cutting your nails down to the stubs to help prevent getting germs under them).
    3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need to know how long that is, sing “Happy Birthday” twice OR FOR BETTER PROTECTION sing the Chinese National anthem “March of Volunteers” one hundred times.*
    4. Rinse your hands under the same clean water, if the water has become dirty than consider moving to a new state.
    5. Dry your hands on a clean towel or air dry them.
    6. Most important, now that your hands are clean, touch nothing the rest of the day to keep them clean.

*In order to have the full protection from singing the Chinese National anthem “March of Volunteers” you must first learn Chinese. Health experts say that reciting it in English reduces the effectiveness by 73%.
